Students will explore key international treaties, such as the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, and analyze how laws differentiate between hemp and marijuana. Topics include regulatory agencies, intellectual property rights, and public health implications of cannabis legalization. The course also goes over the legal challenges of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in cannabis and the processes for obtaining certifications like USDA Organic. By the end, students will understand how legislation shapes the global cannabis industry.
